Maybe somebody knows does INS send back any notices about received package of documents, I mean that INS received the mail from me, and documents in process or about cancelled checks? And how long time takes to receive such notice?

In my case this is a documents for Adjustment Of Status.

I and my husband sent our AOS packages to Chicago INS. About 1 week later we
received a notice that they received our applications. I don't know about other
places, though.

Depending on the office/service center and the frontlog of mail they have, it can
take 1 to 6 weeks. In the case of AOS documents, you will only receive what looks
like a grocery store receipt. DO NOT lose this. It is your proof of filing. Take
