Information for these 2 middle Schools

Hi everyone

My wife has posted a similar thread on citydata, but decided to place one here as well due to the quality response from people on this forum.

We are coming from Australia and we have not decided where we are going to live yet, but I am looking at these two schools for our 14 year old boy. I was just wondering if anyone can give me some information on: Riverwood Middle School kingwood (77345) and North Shore Middle School Houston (77015). I am trying to choose which one you will recommend as a better school for our my son. Our decision of the area to live will be based on the choice of one of these 2 schools.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not in Houston so I can't shed any light on either of those schools but I was wondering if you've looked at this site? http://www.greatschools.org/

Boomy, if you're coming to Houston for work, the best thing might be to get in touch with some of your future office colleagues who are parents. When we moved to TX (long ago) we found a few people in the husband's office there who were glad to gather local opinions on which schools were best. The opinions didn't always agree, so we still had to make some decisions, but at least the folks there were trying to be helpful.

Good luck with your school research!!!

I don't think North Shore is supposed to be the nicest of areas. Kingwood/humble is a better area. The general rule is Houston ISD is not as good as the surrounding ISDs.

Like everything else in Houston though, the best place to live depends on where you'll be working and how long a commute you can cope with.
