Default Indian Curry Sauces

Get all your sauce here

http://www.c-els.com/sfCatalog.asp?s...0010&pchid=537

Shipping is $10 for 15 or so jars so prices are pretty good. They sell many of these in my local Indian Store but my friend gave me this site so I'm passing it on..

Interesting, the Brits seem to adore curry.

Whereas most yanks I know (self included I'm afraid) can't stand the stuff.

I wonder why? (although in my case it actually makes me ill, so I do have an excuse)

Indian friend of mine says his mum using Pataks... it's easier "she said" !!

Not far from the truth given "time" and pataks has same ingredients "Indian Mum" would use...

Add some fresh ingredients and it's all pukka...

If what you're after is all manner of curry sauces- Indian, Thai and Indonesian, I recommend http://www.asianhomegourmet.com Minimum order is omething like $15 bucks and shipping is almost that, but I just buy in bulk and an order lasts me a year (supplemented with trips to the local Asian grocer).

I must admit I make much more laksas, Thai and Indonesian curries at home than I do Indian. With 3 decent Indian restaurants right near my work, all offering lunch buffets, I usually get my fix that way. Whereas there aren't any Indonesian or Malaysian places around here to speak of (unless I drive to DC), so I'm more likely to cook that at home.

Tourist-
Recipes are right on the packet...

usually it's a combination of saute meat/fish/veg, add paste, add coconut milk, simmer and garnish with cilantro aka fresh coriander/spring onion/mint, etc or what have you...
serve with rice or noodles, etc, etc....
