Imigration Advise Please

My wife and myself want to start a small Tea Rooms business in Florida.
How complicated or straightforward is the visa system for Brits wanting to invest in American businesses.
Are there any pitfalls or Red tape we need to watch out for.
Should we use a Visa specialist or do the work ourselves.
How long do applications take, and what costs are involved
Any help you could offer would be great.
Thanks
Rob

try this web site www.bcis.gov this is the imigration web site it will tell you what forms you need and the cost of appying and the rules on immigration . be patiant its like the uk youre dealing with goverment departments which takes time .visa specialists are expensive and have to apply to the same departments with the same waiting lists good luck, its worth the effort ive been here for 7 months just got my work permit but i would do it all again.

You would be looking at an E-2 visa .. The minimum investment needed would be about $100k
For info on that particular visa visit

For a florida only forum ...which has E-2 people
