I'm going home
No, not back to England! I'm handing in my notice tomorrow, breaking the contract and driving over 2000 miles back to Connecticut to finally be with my wife. We've waited 3 and a half years to be together and that's quite long enough. I've sold my houses and I'm giving up my job...I will feel homeless and unemployed for a while but I'm going to have a rest, and at the end of the month we're going back to England to visit my family and friends, and so I can stock up on toiletries and fuel up on curry. :D I can't believe it's finally going to happen.
Now all I have to figure out is how on earth I am going to get through a New England winter after living through an Arizona summer! http://www.discodelic.netfirms.com/s...ethchatter.gif |

Great news Rockgurl, time to follow your heart :) Have a fun and safe trip back home !!!
All the best Jan :) |
Good Luck RG.

Good luck to you. I'm sure everything will work out on the job front. New England winters are snowy, but pretty. Think sweaters. Oh, and the motor bike will be out of the question in the winter, sorry. :(

Fabulous news.
Cold winters sounds good to me at the moment, think hot fires, hot chocolate....... You deserve some time off anyway. House hunting will keep you busy. Bug Hug Dufus xxxxxxxxxxx |
Good luck. Wish you the best with your cross country move.

Great news Rockgurl- glad you'll soon be where you want to be. (bring a hot water bottle back from UK). That will be a great trip xcountry...enjoy!

Very glad to hear your news. You'll find work, I'm sure, but most important, you get to be with your wife.
I've followed your story for a long time and it's been one of the toughest I've read, and yet you're one of the ones who's complained the least. You and your wife really made it happen. I wish you every bit of luck and happiness you deserve - and that's a LOT! hugs -=- Scarlett |

Awww...thanks everyone. I appreicate your good wishes.
Lion in Winter : I'm prepared for not riding in the winter, but that's ok. I'd like to keep it as a summer thing. I'm quite happy relying on the Jeep when it's snowing! I guess we'll soon find out if I can live through the winter. Dufus : Big hugs back to you. How's things going? How's the house? We'll be looking for one when we get back from England. I'm all excited! Actually, after 8 months of 110 degrees, fires and hot chocolate sound very appealing. Taffyles : It's sad but I actually have 3 hot water bottles. The words wimp and lightweight spring to mind! I'm feeling so elderly that I even bought a car blanket. http://www.discodelic.netfirms.com/happy-blush2.gif Scarlett : Thanks that was so sweet. I've complained an awful lot actually lol, but in the end it's been a very positive experience and I've had an amazing time in Phoenix. I'm so glad I came and Arizona will remain one of my favorite places in the world. Well...no going back. I just mailed in my notice by overnight express. http://www.discodelic.netfirms.com/scared-jitters.gif |
Good Luck
Enjoy your new life and drive carefully. |
