I am not allowed to finish my plate when we eat there.

In the right place, Denny's grand slam can be filling.

Esp after closing down a bar at 4am - it's amazing how you crave grease after bar hopping!

IHOP had been hubby's favorite restaurant since he got here.

But we went last week (after his USC oath ceremony!) and we all thought the portions were stingy compared to last time we were there. After we'd finished eating, he said we should have gone to Cracker Barrel instead - which apparently he now prefers.

We've never had the type of experience you have with waitresses thinking we're fat pigs. Then again, we live in the South, so they may think we're odd if we DON'T order extra portions. LOL!

Weird, here they can't believe you don't want extras. I always feel very thin as it's full of the lets say, wider population, and the waitresses seem to think I don't order enough.

Last year they did a place near us, Geraci's. Little Italian joint that's been in business over 50 years.

If you want a place where they won't blink at the size of the portions you consume, try Claim Jumper.

Not in my case, I think there's one other than Denny's/IHOP locally, but OH lives in what he calls "the ghetto"(I was sceptical until one morning when the police were blocking off our street in pursuit of an attempted murderer...it was quite cool seeing our road on the news though!) where for some reason a lot of Mexican people live(the first time I left the house on my my own, I made eye contact with a girl in the street and she was yelling repeatedly on her mobile as I walked past, "There's a WHITE GIRL walking down my block!"), so most of the food places are Mexican or Asian(weird, as there are also a lot of Filipino people, but not many places sell Filipino food).

@Bill_S: Boo, lets not! I'm anti-diet
