I20 for study in USA

Hi,
this is my first time posting a thread on this forum. I would like to study for 6 months in USA and that requires student visa.
Before applying student visa, I must have I20 from the institute but I don't know what kind of documents do I need to provide along with completed school application? I only know that once we complete school application with fee, so we would get I20. am I right? or I must provide some additional documents?

Note that most schools have some kind of 'international students' department that handles these issues. You might check their web site for contact info.

That's the best advice, because each school does something differently, and I think that you have to be accepted before they issue and I-20, some might have a condition that you'll be accepted when visa is issued and give you a provitional acceptance and I-20...that way you don't get charged fee's if you don't get the visa etc...but it does depend on the place.
