I129f "silly" Question

This may well seem a silly question but ...
On question 12 of the I129f form ... "My citizenship was aquired through ..."
after checking "Birth in US",
where it then says "give number of cert, date and place issued"
As we can't find a number on Yvette's Birth cert, does this question relate to Birth certs ?
if yes then do we just put ... "date and place issued" ?

Yes, this question does apply to birth certificates. If it is a certified copy, there
should be a number on the birth certificate. It should be in a box at the top right
corner. If it is a hospital birth certificate, then the number probably won't be on
it. What you need is a certified copy which you can usually get at the clerks office
in the county of where she was born.

citizenship by naturalization. My fiancee has been confused with this question too
when he filed the I-129F application. Anyway, she will be submitting her copy of BC
with the INS and there's no fuss about it. we had ours approved by VSC 10 days after
receipt. Hope this helps.
