It turns out that my shipped container has arrived in Newark before the air freight stuff...how did that happen?!? So my furniture is sitting in the immigration area of the harbour and my clothes are yet to land.

I am currently limited to what we were able to fit in our suitcases as the shipping company assured us that we would have the air freight stuff within the first week of arriving here as it was shipped out a couple of weeks before we actually left the country. I seem to spend more time in the laundry room than anywhere else

Clothes are over-rated anyhow. Except for shoes, but those can be expensive, and impossible to repair in some states so I hear.

All I packed were some black m&s summer trousers and t shirts so I am starting to feel like a slightly awkward goth on their first summer holiday

So have they told you why the airfreight is taking so long? When we moved, our air stuff travelled the same day as we did, and just took another day or so to clear inward. Seafreight arrived several weeks later.

(Ps - Not sure how to answer the freedom bit...how about "coffee no, fries yes?")
