Florida may as well be just another UK county because of the number of Brits there, I was there 18 months ago just for a quick visit to cape canaveral and I was astounded to find we were charge a $10 table tax in a sizzlers restaurant just because the brits didn't know how to tip.

I'd substitute Orlando for Florida in what you said- it has become a Brit playground in recent years. Out of Orlando though things are different.

I thought it was a smart move for restaurants in Orlando to charge a service fee- Brits are unfamiliar with US tipping and were getting a bad name up there for not doing it. What many Brits don't realise is that tipping is the bulk of the waitor/waitress's wage- they only get paid a couple of bucks an hour and rely on tips.
