I believe I am right in saying it is. Violent crime is far worse and there seems to be no political will to help people. What are the chances for people born into a gang lifestyle?

I know Lionheart will mock me for being a middle class liberal who knows nothing but I agree we all need to be reminded about this side of US cities.

It's mercilessly hot with few facilities - they won't be dipping into pools.

You're probably less likely to be the victim of a 'drive by' in England!

Can't argue with that!!! Although I'm sure the smog is worse.

True, it's more likely to be a stabbing.

Given the choice, I'd take the stabbing.

Both will kill you, it's just one makes a louder bang than the other.

Potentially yes, but here both are readily available, in England you would mostly only encounter a knife, I prefer my odds in England. I always felt quite safe in England, never had anything bad happen to me, unfortunately, I cannot say the same for here in America.

I don't buy into the US is more dangerous than the UK thing, I actually feel safer here than in the UK, granted I'd be walking more in the UK. Whereas over here, if I drive into dodgy neighbourhood, it's doors locked and keep your head down.

I think you have got your UK's and US's mixed up. "I don't buy into the US is more dangerous than the UK thing" doesn't match with everything else you say.

Where I am I'm not so sure. Put it this way, back home get up one morning "oh f**k me the car's been nicked", but a few week's back there was a car jacking in my local wally world, in broad day light at gun point :scared: Know what I would prefer.
