i-94 Renewal
 

Recently found out my normal i-94's 2 year allowance period to remain in the US was cut short to 18 months.

So I have to make the unenviable 6 hour journey to Canada to get it renewed. However I heard a rumour I could get this renewed at my local airport once I am through security. Details were vague.

Has anyone else heard of this?

Yes - it's called deferred inspection. If you believe the I-94 was issued incorrectly, you can see about getting it changed. You can fix it at your local airport only if your local airport has a deferred inspection station. Many, but not all, international airports have one. Still... one of them is likely closer than a 6 hour trip to Canada.

Pick up a few refugees on the drive up you could probably charge each one at least $1000 US each to transport them to about quarter of a mile before the border. Drop them off and you carry on to enter Canada.
Sounds like a plan to me and many Minneapolis residents are now doing this :lol:
