I-130 Question
Ok folks, I'm a relative newbie, so if I ask a dumb question, my apologies. I'm pretty hip to the K1 process at this point, been scouring this forum for a month or so now. What I'm not so hip to is the I-130 process, specifically the direct consular filing route.
We're in the process of putting together the K1 paperwork, but I ran across a posting from Alvena, I believe, that mentioned getting married in the home country of the fiancee and filing I-130
directly with the consulate. South Africa is listed as being direct file country and I'll be visiting her in a month. My question is this:
Do I have to reside in South Africa to go this route?? Or can we get married when I go there, file with the consulate, and let things take their course after I return to the states? After reading the I-130 FAQ, I'm still unclear on this. Any info will be greatly appreciated....
Thanks,
Jerry

Re: I-130 Question
After further research, I found the DCF page on Docsteen's site.
Any experience with this process anyone can pass on would still be appreciated. Thanks......
