Default I-130 for parents, HELP anyone!

Hi there,

I have filed I-130 for my mom (who's in the USA) and my dad (who's in former Yugoslavia) back in February 22nd, but still haven't heard from INS yet. Does anyone have an idea how long does it take for them to approve the filed application?

One more thing, my mom's VISA (B2) expired last month, and her passport has expired too. Is that a problem? will they deny her I-130 because of this?

I haven't applied for AOS though. Can I applly for AOS and I-131 immediately after we receive approval notice for I-130?

How about my dad who's not in the USA? Do we have to apply for him here or in the consulate in EX Yugoslavia??

Please help me anyone, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

have you at least received a receipt?

presumably you sent the petition by a secure method and have been able to track that it was received by USCIS...

and was your check cashed?

BTW, you are likely to get more knowledeable answers if you post in the US Immigration forum - this one is more for "lifestyle" issues...

There's several forums within BE dedicated to US visa related issues. You're probably better off posting in one of those.

Also, when you do post, please mention the nationality of each parent.
