how tough conviction visa?

How tough is it to get a US Visa d type boat crew if,
you had a conviction 9 years ago for assault and it was diverted i.e. you plead guilty and apologise and make a donation to a charity, and supposedly no criminal record

:(

You should get one, the rules are specific - I would say that assault is a Crime involving Moral Turpitude but you did not get jail time. Personally I would say there isn't a problem
