How many states have you visited?

Lets see.
First states were VA and District of Columbia on a trip to visit a mate in Washington in 2002. Then we went on a road trip to Baltimore harbor thus notching up MD. Next up we went on a greyhound bus ride to New York - thus taking care of DE, NJ and NY (although I slept through most of the ride). Met a yank at uni in 2004 - went over to visit her in MA and we went up to Maine via NH. Took a crap connecting flight which didn't connect properly and ended up having to stay in Philly PA. She came over to the UK then on trips back to New England we went to NH (to get booze) and VT. Then since i've moved here this year I have been to NH (again to get booze) and VT for leap peeping - although the fall was a bit pants this year.
Final count leaving out DC - VA, MD, ME, NH, VT, DE, NJ, NY, PA
My missus has been to - CT, RI, WI, ME, NH, VT, MA and Upstate NY, so I am one up on her despite being from a different continent.
Kinda understandable - WI and Illinois are both about the size of England - WI a bit larger. Some of the States on the east coast are pretty small so you can notch them up pretty quickly. Surprised you haven't been tempted to go to Iowa or Indiana though.

It wasn't the cold, it was the overall gloominess of the place. The sky was grey, the ground was grey, the trees were grey, the ocean was grey and even the birds were grey. If everything wasn't slightly different shades of grey you would'nt know which was was up or down there

Nine to go, including North Dakota. That's going to be tricky as I've been to all the surrounding states and have no reason to go there (other than to say I've been). Interestingly, it was the last state visited by Bill Clinton during his presidency, just before the end of his second term.

Hardly any. California of course. Spent a week in Philadelphia with a day trip to New York, 2 weeks in Colorado and 2 vacations in Hawaii.
Ooh, and Nashville - is that Tennessee?
