Default How many employees does USCIS actually have?

Does anyone have any idea how many people USCIS actually have processing AOS's in each state; to do the interviews etc etc??? I had heard in NC they have about 5 only. Is that true?

Where did you get the figure for NC from? Someone you know? Stats off a US government website?

I am curious because (maybe) I have a little too much free time on my hands and have been lookig at the workings of the USCIS in terms of budget and performance. All this information is available on the net, but of course numbers are important when people are applying for AOS. It will dictate how long they live in 'limbo' in the world of AP and EAD's and that additional expense.

I don't have a friend or contact who works for the USCIS but asked them straight up last time i went to a USCIS office exactly how many people work for them, who does what job etctetc. The man was obviously not happy with his job and spilled his guts and what i learned truely shocked me. He confirmed in South Carolina where he used to work there are only three people who do AOS interviews. Being new to NC he was 'pretty sure' it was around five but wasn't certain.
