How to find my ITIN/get a new one
About three years ago (when I was non-resident) I filed a W7 and W8-BEN to qualify for reduced tax witholding on a stock options plan. The paperwork was all handled by the company (Qualcomm) and I was never given my ITIN.
Now, I need to know it. Except neither the options administrator nor the IRS can find it.
Are there any disavantages to simply applying for a new ITIN? As far as I can ascertain, I need to fill out a W7, and get gold of a letter from my bank/shareholding account saying that they need an ITIN.
