Re: Not-quite newbie seeking advice
That was actually a semi-serious question. How does one get to spend half the year here, half the year in the UK? Family matters.

Sorry, I thought it was a wind-up. What citizenships are involved? Are you talking about legal permission to live in each country or just looking for a job?
If just a job, I guess anything where you work from home, but I don't know where to look for such a thing. Are you in a particular profession that you want to continue in?

I would suggest dual nationalities and independent financial means or a job that is not location dependent.

Excuse the parody in the original message.
I'm a dual citizen - Blighty and here. I'm a software engineer. I suppose writing could do it.

I believe Microsoft has a UK base, or at least did a few years ago. Might be worth checking, but it's hard to get hired there.

My brother works for MSFT, originally in the UK but they let him transfer to the US a few years ago, and apart from a few months in Hong Kong, has been here ever since. He does get to visit the UK on business a lot, and probably could do it more if wanted. Not sure if they'd go as far as 6 months in the US, 6 months in the UK though.

Asylum-seeking, benefit defrauding dirty foreigner? I'm told that's all the rage in Europe-istan nowadays.
