How do you define a person that has class?

We were discussing at work today what we perceive as a classy person and it got a bit heated.

I said and I am open to be quoted on this that I would categorise a person with class, someone that was well spoken presented themselves well, took care of themselves and had a good education enjoyed the finer side of life.

I am not talking social class just a general classy looking person.

It can differ really. I've met people who you would imagine should have class and they have been complete assholes and I've met people who would imagine they didnt have class themselves and were among the very nicest and classiest people I've met. IMO its not about your accent, education, money, dress sense, or any of the other outer qualities. Its very much defined by how "nice" a person is and how much they care about other people and their feelings.

The senario came about because a rep came into work and she looked really lets say well groomed and manicured, so I said "oh she looks classy and nice" and one of the other girls said "she has no class she is a Bitch" :confused:she seemed to know of the girl from the past.

Looks can be deceptive :) Did you get to speak to her? Did she act like a "bitch" to you. You never quite understand what peoples motivations are for labelling people one thing or another really. Do you trust the opinion of the colleague who called her a bitch? She (the "bitch") might be a very nice person who deserves a second chance from someone more openminded :)

Yes I spoke to her and she was charming.
The work colleague has only worked there for a week and it kind of made me think :( who the bitch was in this instance, its not really a comment that I like to hear said about anyone be it true or not well not at work lol.
