# La Madeleine Bakery Cafe
19710 Northwest Fwy # 100
I like the brolly idea . . . but if it's raining, everyone may be carrying one!

Looks like there are a ton of restaurants in the area (I used Mapquest), but one you may like is La Madeleine. A bit pricey, but good food -- quiches, fresh soup, and such.

Re: Houstonians
Another question for those who know better than us!
We've got visitors coming - OH's daughter and her boyfriend (mid 20s) for a week.
So far we've got a few things planned out - a visit to the Space Centre, pictures to see Simpsons the movie (their request!), a shopping trip to Best Buy (again, their request) and then I thought a trip to some malls (possibly Galleria), check out the theatre district, take in a baseball game and time round the pool.
Have we missed anything glaringly obvious? Or do you have any better/other suggestions?
Thanks guys

Drive to San Antonio and go to the River Walk and to the Alamo.
Go to Galveston to Moody Gardens.........great 3D Movie theatre there.

Re: Houstonians
We went to San Antonio a couple of weekends ago and thought about taking them there too, but it's really an overnighter, so ruled that out.
Galveston isn't too far for a day/evening trip though, is it?
What about the Forbidden Gardens? Worth a visit?

Galveston is not far at all. If you go walk all the boardwalk, along the sea front. There is also a good Flight Museum near Moody Gardens if any of you like old planes.
I like Galveston but not so much in the summer time. It is a bit busy this time of the year.
Kemah is another alternative and that's not far to go. Good restaurants there as well.

We've also been to Kemah although it was a stinking hot day, so we didn't enjoy it too much. And it was there that some random hairdresser managed to give me a Texan massacre look!
We did have a fantastic seafood lunch overlooking the water though, and watched the boats coming and going
