Default Houston area people, anyone flooded out yet?

Hopefully you are all ok. We are watching our Bayou carefully, it's close to breaking the banks but hopefully the training rainfall will slow down today and tomorrow.

When you look back to last year and the awful drought this year is the complete opposite, all or nothing

for all of you! Stay dry..

Yep, hope everyone's doing okay...

We're okay where we're at, a couple of the roads on my way back from work on Thurs/Fri were flooded (Telge at 290) and we ventured a little further up 290 towards Cypress for some good old On the Border and there were some pretty evident signs of flooding with a couple of cars just off the feeder with water up to their windows. Not good. Seems to be improving though so hopefully that's it for now.

We've had plentyof rain, but nothing close to flooding round our way - a few big puddles on the road, but thats it. They Bayous are full, but still a long way from overflowing.

Kids had a soccer camp this week though, and that was cancelled on Weds/Thurs due to the storms and the pitches flooding. They put in new drainage a couple of years ago, and the fields are drying really quickly now, so even when they were flooded in the morning, the evening camp was still happening! The camp is being run by these young coaches from the UK, and we've been hosting a couple. They came in from Midnight Rodeo (the local "cowboy bar" )at 4.15 this morning, but were still up at 7.15 to go to camp, looking none the worse for wear.....ah, I remember those days......a looong time ago!

No problems here SM but Wed/Thu were long commutes for hubby and taking the dude to Main Event for camp down 45 was a bit hairy at times. I'll keep my that the rain eases up for your Bayou x

Oh yeah and I am bitten to death by those damn Mozzies

Man, this evening was pretty bad. Was making my way up Highway 6 from Sugarland and boy oh boy was it raining. The last thing we needed was more heavy rain and lightning!

Hope everyone's still doing good. Hard to believe the rest of the country is having a dry season.

Off to invest in a thunder coat for the dog today. The poor thing is pretty much in hibernation with all this thunder.

Ours is the same. He hates going outside in the wet at the best of times but recently it's been worse. Not helped that our grass is really really tall right now from the extra water and it hasn't dried enough to have it cut without destroying it.

How you doing SM? Hope your banks have held!!

Receded for now hopefully the storms will soon be gone. Our grass is really tall as well so we need to dry out for a day or two before we can get out there to mow.

Sam's thunderShirt arrives in 7 days so I can guarantee that'll be the end of the storms! My tv just flashed another storm warning coming in.

Don't know what you're all complaining about - hot and sunny, not a drop of rain where we are!

Err, we did have to "evacuate" to Arkansas to manage it though

Wife says its been dry since we left, and the lawn guys managed to tame the jungle today. Dog will be pleased, because she's another "fair weather" pooch....doesn't do rain. Thunder doesn't seem so bad - she gets excited, but not frightened. Wind is bad for her though - hides under the coffee table when it gets blowy. She was only about 3 months old when Ike came through, and I dont think she's forgotten it. Kids slept right thru, but I was up all night with the puppy!!
