Re: Hot as hell
People back home complain about it being humid. It's just nothing like the overpowering humidity we have here at the moment.

Re: Hot as hell
We had 33c here today (CT) and forecast to be about 35C tomorrow. Dont you guys use celsius anymore??
35C's about 100F - I think - and this is relatively up north for you poor devils way back in the woods in TN or wherever it must be grim. |
Re: Hot as hell
It's been over 100 the last couple of days and tomorrow's forecast is a high of 101F. It's unpleasantly hot and humid.
Even this past Saturday, we got in the car to go out during the mid-afternoon and the temperature outside was 113F! NC Penguin |
Re: Hot as hell
It's been a delicious low-humidity 98deg today, with forecasts of >100deg for the rest of the week.
Bliss. The heat makes me happy to live here. Now if I was somewhere humid like the armpit of hell known as Houston Texas, it would be another matter entirely! |
Re: Hot as hell
An average Texas summer.... :p
gotta be honest, though, we had an extremely mild and rainy June and July, so the return of "normal" August weather sucks. Still, we all reckon we got off lucky this year to have forestalled summer until August. It's all down to what you're used to and more importantly, what you're prepared for. I really feel for people who live in areas with inadequate aircon and ventilation. |

They say that Austin had quite a low humidity rate before the damming of the Colorado River for flood control and water usage. In the summer we now are in between DFW and Houston as far as relative humidity goes, according to http://lwf.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/...ccd/avgrh.html |
Re: Hot as hell
It's 11.45 pm. Feels like 82F, 88% humidity. Tomorrow, a mere 90F. Ugh! I cannot wait to leave this weather behind...

its now after midnight and still 89f! the thing is, humidity here is a lot more than the Uk but seems a lot less than boston, chicago and anywhere in florida... (based on me visting those places several times) people in nashville have a simple mantra if the day has a 'y' in it - head down the local for a drink... |
