Have you tried AAA? We have our home insurance thru them as well as our cars and they seem reasonable and it is unlikely they will be going away any time soon.

10-1 the "bad choices" involve their own decisions to get into credit default swaps and other dodgey investment tools over the last few years, and they are trying to shore up their position and not become the next headline
