Hi there

Can you tell me if there is any sites on the internet that will let me find out who is the current owner of a villa in florida.

The reason is that I used to own it (and rent it out) and as I am going back there on holiday next year I would love to know if it is still a rental property.

The people I sold it to no longer own it.

See if the county recorder, county assessor and/or property tax have internet access to their public records. Some do, some don't.

Which county is it in ?

You can Google for the Property appraiser, e.g. "Lee County Property Appraiser" "Charlotte County Property Appraiser".

Put in the general address details and Bob's your Uncle.

Check www.zillow.com, they even give you their estimate value of the house.

Not sure about Florida, but in Maryland I use the Dept of Assessments and Taxation, I look to see what the property is taxed at per year, and it gives me the name of the owner.

I will see if I can find the equivalent down in Florida for you.
