Default Is Hollywood portraying an anti-war view of terrorism?

Someone please explain this question to me! It is the question on Fox News tonight.

What the *** is an "anti-war view of terrorism" it makes absolutley no sense - does no-one understand that terrorism is a weapon of war and an actually enemy! They might as well ask "is Hollywood portraying an anti-war view of bullets"

I have 100 monkeys in my attic with typewriters and not one of them has come up with such a dumb sentence!

My only question is why people on this site keep watching Fox news and then complaining about it?
BBC world news is on Public TV as is The Newshour with Jim Lehrer http://www.pbs.org/newshour/.

I write comedy, it is a fantastic place to get material! There is a soldier who has replied to the question. You have to read it in your best Jack Nicholson, but his is pissed off that George Clooney is using the Freedom of Speech he ensures! He complains about his sacrafice for his country, the kunt is posted in Hawaii - poor bastard.

You cant make this shit up

I'm not sure if I agree that "terrorism is a weapon of war" using the traditional definition of war.

There's been terrorism in the 20th century that has no association with war. ie. IRA, Basque movement in Spain, single acts of terrorism like 9/11.

Ignore the word war then! My point is Terrorism is a weapon in much the same way a bomb or a bullet is, not an actual enemy. You cannot fight terrorism in the same way as you cannot fight sarcasm,

I just used the phrase in the context of the current situation. You must now agree with it now!

Is your TV stuck on FOX at the moment? I wouldn't pay heed to what is broadcast on FOX. Their broadcasts make no sense to you because you are clearly not their target audience who are nodding agreement and punching the air!

Taken from FOX:

"Americans are shown to be greedy and corrupt while suicide bombers are presented as freedom fighters."

1980's England

"The UK goverment are shown to be oppressive imperialists while the IRA are presented as freedom fighters"

precisely...when it comes to Fox news you are either of the "dribbling in agreement variety" or the "I'm about to throw a shoe at my T.V variety"

I think the whole issue boils down to simple lies on both sides

Exactly. Fox and, say, NPR are flip sides of the same coin. I agree with certain things they both say, but they both seem to go a few steps too far in introducing their own politicized bias into almost every story. It's like an arms race: every outlet is trying to differentiate themselves in an extremely crowded and competitive environment. The only way they can build a dedicated audience is by preaching to the converted and staying within their own editorial perspective. As more and more media outlets align themselves as "left" or "right", the outlets have to become more and more shrill in sticking to their own biases.

There's nothing wrong with this, it just means that you have to read both the Telegraph and the Independent (for example) to get an idea of what is actually happening. I'd actually prefer it if newspapers and TV networks were upfront about their own editorial position, that would make them easier to trust.
