Holiday to California

Re: Holiday to California
Although San Diego is great, it's just beaches, zoos, theme parks, restaurants, and can be experienced anywhere.
This is possibly my first ever post in defense of LA

It's iconic, there is something rather cool about sitting down to watch the Oscar's and knowing you've been to the theatre, the restaurant where you ate lunch at The Grove popping up while you're watching a movie/TV show, walking down Rodeo Drive, visiting the Hollywood sign, cocktails while celeb spotting at Chateau Marmont, driving Mulholland Highway, PCH through Malibu and Santa Monica... All shots you've seen a thousand times, and getting to experience them. That's before you start on places like The Getty Center, which is worth a visit to LA all on it's own.

The crapness of some of the iconic sights is all part of the fun, too

I guess I still dont see it, I'd never plan a vacation over Hollywood and celebs and what not...
Like I said, I am probably biased, but LA is not what I'd call a vacation city.

Yep. I had a doctor's appointment once at a specialist in Hollywood, it was a rather run down area, and I stopped on the corner for a Starbucks, opposite what appeared to be a junk yard. I was rather amused to see 'stars' on the sidewalk down there, not quite what you expect when you hear about the celebs getting their Hollywood star.

Normal service is resumed.
You've reminded me of something Kittycat and her friends could go to (because my daughter wanted to go back to the 'legendary bingo' and said you should come):
