I'm curious, if people can go to college after passing GCSE's, what are A-levels supposed to equate to here?

gcse's alone, wouldn't get you into anything decent...A-levels probably more on par with an associates, or between that and HS diploma...

Unless it has changed dramatically: Plumber, Elecritician, Hairdresser, Chef. the list goes on. Before coming here 2 years ago I was a trainee careers advisor and I met many young people who didn't want to do A levels but wanted to make the best of their abilities and desires
I find the " I'm better than you" tiresome.
