I just discovered this site. It looks great. I am originally from East London and live in sunny Las Vegas.

Yep 17 years, actually on and off. I spent 1 1/2 years back in the UK about 10 years ago and couldn't wait to get back here.
Not that I don't love Britain, but the quality of life is much better here.

I thought we weren't trying to scare of newbies 
well the cost of housing was so much cheaper than the UK.
the weather is nice and hot
you have an abundance of cheap food and buffets
good entertainment
I can see it could be better than a lot of poorer parts in the UK

Well in my opinion it is. I have a nicer house than I could have there, I don't have to drive around for 3 hours for a parking spot, I get better service, I have entertainment at my feet, California just a few hours away, blue sky most days so I can live more of an outdoor lifestyle and I can take a non-stop flight to the London whenever I want.
I am not complaining.
