This is where we buy all our furniture. It's an "English" (Furniture is made in England and the store is owned by English expats who also own "the English Tearoom" right next door) furniture store in St. Louis, but I'm sure they ship.

Depends on your style but look up 'Amish furniture' in your new state / city and see if you have any hand-crafters near you building customer furniture.

I see that place sells "hutches" and "armoires" ... they don't sound very English. However, definitely worth a visit for the Cream Teas next door. I can see spending the noon hour at the brewery tour then toddle off for a cream tea..

For god's sake avoid Ikea. It's all made of cardboard and will fall apart in a few years. And their customer service stinks worse than a rancid herring.

We just looked around locally and ended up in a nice family run furniture store, lots of Oak and leather it seems, we have had a few things from them and been very pleased with the service and deliveries.
