HELP - WASHING DETERGENT URGENT!!

Hi everyone,

We arrived in the US on Sunday and moved from a hotel to an apartment yesterday.
My son has woken up this morning with a pin pick rash I am putting down to the detergent on the bed sheets.
So - my first HELP question!!!
Can anyone recommend a good hypo-allergenic washing detergent / fabric softener??? We used Fairy, Arieal and Persil in the UK with no problems.

Thanks everyone,

Gill.

p.s. Loving MI so far - but haven't seen much past toy shops so far!!!!!

There are loads...we just use the Hannafords own brand stuff as it is the cheapest.

Seventh Generation is really very good though, but tad pricey...good for the greenies though.

Tide free and gentle.

Was the bed new or shipped from the UK? If it was shipped, sometimes they put several shipments in the same container and there is a possibility of bed bugs moving from someone's else's shipment to your shipment.

No, we are in a furnished apartment, beds were already here. I have seen this happen before in hotels which heavily starch the bed linen, just need to wash it (I hope)

Earth Friendly Ecos is the most hypoallergenic I've found. It seems to have decent availability, even Costco carries it now. It works well and a $13 bottle from Costco does us about 250 loads in a front loader, about half in a top loader. http://www.ecos.com/laundry.html I should also add that it's the closest to the Arieal/Persil/Fairy brands I've found as it doesn't contain enzymes which the majority of the brands labeled hypoallergenic here do, they are what causes the same rash (among other things) for me.
