Help needed on H1B

Hello Users,
I am a Ugandan National. I was sponsored by a company to work in the US , but up to now they have not called me.
It has really messed up my career , since I had resigned my previous job (Out of excitement), and I really would like to work in the west.
I would like to come to the US since my Visa is still in Status , and get used to the place , for things may get better by the end of this year , and it would be advantagious if i am there.
My parents already live in the US, so surviving would not be a problem.
My question is : Will I get trouble with INS at the Port of Entry ?
