I've never had an issue with "Pom" on its own, it all depends on the adjective people choose to pair it with.

Definitely enjoy the holidays and if you can't easily answer yes to any of the questions in the wiki link to ways into the US, don't sweat the effort of making anything more out of the holiday as flying and getting about a bit is more than enough ball ache
