I make my own version of them and freeze them in individual portions. I've tried the vegetarian ones and they're OK - but I'm not particularly picky about them in the first place I only make my own as I don't like the high amounts of sugar and salt in them.

After 20 odd years here I actually prefer the Heinz vegetarian ones now, they're not so mushy as the UK version. They're a buck a can at walmart too.

Popped in here today after hearing about it on Friday and not only do they have Heinz baked beans ( UK packaging) but Skips and Walkers crisps and Chewits and Hob Nobs and Sherbert Fountains..oh and not a bad line in sausage rolls and pasties too!

Hubby and I are great fans of Heinz Baked Beans and were always on the lookout for them.

However, recently we have found Bush's Original Baked Beans. They are really good, even more tasty than Heinz (hubby is a picky eater and even he says they are outstanding) and in plentiful supply in most grocery stores.

If you are nr. Little Falls take a trip to Wayne...north on Rt 23...to Gary's Winestore. He sells quite a few British goodies...he also sells seasonal goodies at Christmas and Easter.

My sister was telling me today that they now do cheesy backed beans.... I love Heinz beans as much as the next person but cheesy ones sound nasty!
