which health plan??

which health plan??
I will move to Tampa, Florida in April 2004. I am looking for a HEALTH PLAN which will cover routine visits to doctors, prescriptions as well as in case of a major accident. So far no insurance company is willing to cover me because I haven't been resident in the US for at least 6 months. The only one available are traveller policies - which just cover in case of major accidents.
Does anybody know of a good company which will cover me?? How much expect to pay just for myself?? Why it's so hard???

We are on an HMO plan with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida through my husband's employment. Give them a try.
