$232 p/w $16 dental or Bi-weekly?, this would be "Employee contribution".

Here in USA, we usually say Bi-weekly or monthly. The monthly figured being derived at, by Bi-weekly amount x 26 divided by 12.

Then there are deductables to be meet & Co pays. ER co-pay, maybe $100-$$$$$$$, X-Rays, Mri, Catscan, Bloodwork, may all be extra. Rx, co=pays, Doctor visit, stays in hospital all usually extra.

Unless you have played the USA, Healthcare marathon, its a nightmare.

As others have said, if company offers group insurance, usually best way to go. Individual insurance tends to be a nightmare. PRE Existing, tends to be the death nell.

$400/month sounds like a scam - as an individual policy for two children, and your wife should be around $1000/month (don't quote me on that #).

You should contact your employer and ask if they can be added to your plan. It will cost more, but they should be willing to do this (if they really want you). If they aren't, ask them for a referral to a policy that you can purchase for your dependents.
