Default Health insurance

Hi
Tried searching on the forum but couldnt find an answer,

Hoping to move to USA after Visa process with my USC wife. Can anyone suggest a website that I can get quotes for health insurance as a new immigrant, for both her and myself.
We would be looking for employment upon arrival so wouldn't have work place benefit.

Thank you

Depending on which state you are in go to your State's health exchange website. If State does not have it's own exchange then go to

https://www.healthcare.gov/

which is the Federal health insurance exchange.

Failing that find a health broker in your area.

Thanks you, but as yet still in UK about to embark on DCF petition and visa application, was looking for an idea of how much health care is likely to cost us.

Presuming you know where you are going to live in the US, go to those websites put in a post code and complete the form as though you are already living there. Presume too, that you will know what income you will be getting when you arrive in the US.

The websites should be able to give you a quote based on the info you put in. How much it will cost you depends on your income, age, whether or not you get subsidies and what level of plan you want.

(Should always budget a few hundred dollars a month for insurance)

If Trump has anything to say about it, enrolling in the exchanges will adversely affect your eligibility for citizenship when the time comes. Just FYI.
