have ya'll noticed....
i'm new to this e-town, hey everybody! i've been mailing petra 'n jon privately and they filled me in on the existance of this site, one of the most awesome sites out there!
i'm about to mail my immigration forms out and unlike most of u folks here, i'm on a student visa married to a usc 'n so my package includes an I-130 form. i've been trying to get realistic processing times for applications such as mine. i'll be sending my forms in to the charleston, s.c service center. i've been surfing a lot of forums and is it just me or are immigration application (of most any sort 'n thru most all service centers) filed in '01 on, being processed much quicker compared to a couple of years back or is it just that folks who post up their filing dates in '00, '99 'n before just not bother to update their pending status and so leave the impression that they're still waiting for their interview dates 2 years into it? could anybody out there who've been in my shoes 'n preferrably who've applied thru the same service center fill me in on anything u may have for me? thanx 'n god speed.

Hello Jay!
a good way to check recent AOS experiences and times in your area is to go to
www.kamya.comm which lists people's experiences
by INS office. I adjusted from a F-1 as well, and the time frames are vastly
different depending on the INS office. Processing times for Boston are always much
faster than for Atlanta or Phoenix. You can check the latest ones out on Matt Udall's
website, or on www.shusterman.com. In
general, if you have the option to file in person, it may save you some time as the
INS officer will be able to look over your paperwork and make sure all is correct.
Some offices will even issue EAD on the spot, and give you your fingerprinting and
interview appointment letters (as happened to me when adjusting through Boston).
Hope you have a good experience! -Des

thanx des, 'n yes i have checked those sites out 'n have pretty much summarized that nobody waits for more than 15 months to get their interview invite. 'n i have a feeling that after 9/11 they're tryin to truck it 'n the influx of the new 10,000 employees defenitely helps. i'll be filing at charleston, s.c which is under atlanta service center, which is under texas service center(i'm not eve sure if that's right or even if it is, why the hierarchy).
