The whole crap about Merry Xmas or Happy Holidays seems a little ridiculous. But it is being heavily pushed by the right's voice (Fúks news and the radio lot) as evidence of the oppression of their faith and Americaness. Think it's a non-issue myself, though I'm quite happy to say Happy Holidays if I know it will irritate them.

What about the dyslexic devil worshippers? Shouldn't they be able to freely worship santa?

Re: Happy Holidays!
I work with people over the phone a lot and this year there is a lot of people saying "Happy Christmas" I do say "Happy Christmas" back to them, but if they say "Happy Holidays", I say nothing. If they say Happy Hannukah , I will say it right back. I just can't stand the nothingness of Happy Holidays. There was one woman yesterday who said Happy Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza or what ever you celebrate to me, we did have a laugh about it as she was saying everything now is just too PC. Last Year most people were saying Happy Holidays, but this year it is different. I think most people are just fed up having to bow down to the PC crowd.

'Plusgood' covers the meaning, or 'doubleplusgood' if you want something stronger still.... In the end the whole notion of goodness and badness will be covered by only six words; in reality, only one word."

Re: Happy Holidays!
Excellent thread! I absolutely loathe 'happy holidays'. What if you don't celebrate any holiday in Nov/Dec e.g. hindus, muslims, buddists and many other religions.
They've even made the song "We wish you a happy holiday (x3), and a happy new year"! Just does not have the same feel good factor.
I asked someone at work if people sings hymns and xmas songs on the streets here (like they do on in our local high street in the UK) and he was horrified saying, no way. He said it wouldn't be very nice for people who don't celebrate christmas. Whatever happened to freedom of religion!
