Re: Hallo from sunny AZ
I had no idea there were so many expats in AZ. I moved here with my parents 8 years ago and have never met anyone else from the UK, except for one woman from Yorkshire who works with my mum. I do see a few union flags/GB stickers on cars though, so I knew there was some. So who's organizing this get-together then?

There are many expats in the Phoenix Metro.I used to meet them all over the valley when i was working, now retired.Quite a few work at the Apache helicopter plant,McDowell/HigleyI know of at least four families from Somerset here in AJ also people from London/Hull/Manchester/Bristol/Hungerford/Glasgow/Liverpool/Birmingham/Liecester/Ashford Kent in AJ.It would be nearly impossible to round them up for a get together.

Have you tried the English store at Scottsdale and Thomas?
well, i don't feel so bad about not finding BE for so long now lol.
Cornish Pasty Co - Not kid friendly. It's a bar. There's one table at the very back of the place, where a family can eat, but otherwise, it's just a hole in the wall.
I've not tried the pasties yet, but will do soon. As i really miss my cornish pasties. Especially authentic ones from Cornwall Used to drive down there a lot just for a weekend binge of cornish pasties. haha.
(and rum n raisin fudge)
Nice to know there's so many more in the Phx area than just me.
I often see people driving cars/SUV's with either a Union Jack on them or a St George's Cross (the flag of England for those who aren't English, lol), and wonder if they're really brits in the car or not.
I need a "honk if you're British" sticker i think (probably a bad idea for me though, lol. i already get pissed off enough when i get honked for not pulling away from a traffic light the instant the light turns green. Or not turning right on red, and the muppet behind bibs his hooter. argh that annoys me so much. Now i just sit there if they bib me. lol. Wait till the light turns green and then go.

There is also this British pub in Scottsdale, in the Camelback Plaza (I think), it's been 5 years since we went so it might have changed but we had a fairly decent ploughman's in there.

Hello people!
I think I might just have to organise this meet up for you!
We used to frequent Churchill's. Would that still work for everyone? How about I knock something together for you? This is the first time I've been able to have a few minutes free at work to come on here & see what's been going on!
