H4 Documents
Hi Friends,
I am on H1 visa in US since more than 3 years. I changed my employer 2 years back and I went to Monteral to get my new visa stamped. But the consulate said that they did not have education evalution privilages and asked me get the visa from my home country. My I 94 was valid then and so I was allowed into the country. My new H1 is still valid. Now I am planning to marry a H1 holder in August in India and return back on dependent visa (H4). Can somebody let me know what documents should I carry to the consulate in India for getting H4 stamped. I would highly appriciate any suggessions. Thanks & Regards, Balaji |

You will need your spouse's H-1 petition, his passport and H-1B visa, and if he is in the US a copy of his I-94 (copies of all these documents should be enough) as well as your marriage certificate. Ideally, your spouse will apply for a new H-1B visa himself at the same time if he needs one; consulates prefer if couples apply together. If he already has his visa and it doesn't need renewing, it may still be a good idea to have him on hand with you in India when you apply. >I would highly appriciate any suggessions. > >Thanks & Regards, > >Balaji > > > >-- >Posted via http://britishexpats.com I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.
