Default H1 and H4 Visa Stamping at the same time?

I am currently working for a new company on H1b Visa. I have applied and received a new approval notice (H1 Transfer to the current company). My Question is regarding H1b Stamping for me and H4 Stamping for my Wife. I have not stamped the new H1 yet, on the passport. I still have the old company's H1 stamping on the passport. Will I be able to get my H1 stamping and my wife's H4 stamping done at the same time? Or are there any restrictions? Please advise.

Yes, you can get both done at the same time; in fact, that is the preferred way.

As for restrictions: it depends on whether you choose to get the visa stamp in your
home country or from St. Louis. In your home country, there aren't any restrictions -
although you may find yourself subject to a very lengthy security review, and stuck
outside the US for weeks or possibly months.

If you choose to get your visa stamped in St. Louis, you are only eligible to do that
if your old visa is less than two months from expiring, or hasn't expired for more
than a year. Also, if you would be subject to the security review, this may not be
possible (I'm not sure).
