H1 to F1
Hi Friends,
Could anyone please let me know how long does I-529(adjustment of status--H1 to F1) takes to get approved by INS and what is the documentation needed.
Thanks in advance.

Re: H1 to F1
It takes around 4-5 months.
Using my memory, with change of status form, you need to send I-20 form issued by the school with copies of passport(s) in case you have dependents, a notorized financial solvency proof or gurantee (DO NOT forget to get your financial proof notorized) and copy of your past visas.
Other than that make sure to get every thing double-checked with the school international office/person.
Try to keep every thing transparent
Good luck.

Thanks for the information.
But can I attend the school and simultaniously apply for the adjustment of status, I mean like conditional admission.
Kindly let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, you cannot any more. It used to be possible.
On the other hand, INS promised to process changes of status (not "adjustment"
- that's something different) to F-1 within 30 days. We'll see if that is going
to happen...
