H1 and Embassy Visit
Hi all,
I changed status from F1 to H1 and have yet to return to Blighty for the visa.
Now, I was silly enough many moons ago to have changed status from B to F1 and when I went back to get my visa at the US Embassy in London, they sent me to stay with my brother in Derby for two years until I gathered enough evidence and cash to return and finish my degree.
So after two years of 'ey-oop-me-dook' and the relegation of Derby County from the Premier Division, I finally ran the gauntlet of the consular process.
Now, understandably, these people fill me with dread, and I am concerned at what paperwork I need to take to satisfy their need.
I have an INS Notice of Action and a Job. Should I go and sacrifice a goat at midnight?
Thanks
Tony

H-1 is totally different. For an F-1 you are required to maintain a residence in your
home country, need to show you will return, have sufficient funds for the time at
school, etc, etc. H-1s are dual-intent and you don't need any of that.

I'll just take a company letter of confirmation and a payslip or two.
