Hi All,

I have been approved H1b 2007 all paper work is approved and stamped, I am thinking of moving over in April.

Can anyone tell me the state of the market there, are the USA in recession?

I am just a little worried that the IT Market that I am in will fall and i will have to come back but on the other hand i'm thinking i should take the risk as UK doesn't have much to offer.

If you own a home in the UK, I wouldn't sell it if you're on an H-1B, for the reasons you explain.

You work in the IT industry so you're probably competent enough to search the internet for articles/sources of information on predictions for your industry in the near future.

For an educational institution? Weird that any employer would wait more than a year for a hire date...but once you've got a job, transferring the H1 isn't that hard if you found a new company willing to take it on if you had to change jobs...
