I am a Canadian Citizen now working in US on H-1B, and would like to sponsor my wife, who is a Chinese Citizen in P.R. China. But the US Consulate in P.R. China denied my wife's H-4 visa application, on the bases that my wife "has never been to Canada". I married my wife a few months ago when I was still in Canada, and shortly after that, I moved to US for the new job. So my wife didn't have enough time to obtain a Canadian immigration visa (which usually takes about 10 months or longer) to join me in Canada.

If you could provide any helpful advice, or if you are an immigration lawyer who has experience in handling such cases, please contact me at [email protected]. Thank you.

As a result of working in the computer industry, I know a lot of people who are in a
similar position as you. What you probably will end up having to do is hire an immigration
attorney to represent your wife because of the fact that her initial application to enter
the United States was declined.

try misc.immigration.canada .. there are probably a few in there in your situation..from
there ask about the US newsgroup equivalent..there is a lot of valuable information there.
