UK, Ireland, Nigeria! US and Cameroon,

The african nations were a bit of a surprise!

I've never liked the taste of Guiness - it's too strong, although I've always preferred bitter as it's not as gassy as lager.

When my daughter was born by caesarian I lost a lot of blood and had to have blood transfusions....and I was allowed to drink Guiness in the hospital! (It apparently has a lot of iron in it)

I drink more of it here than i ever have, mainly because the other beers taste like water. Though Stella is thankfully widely available over this way.

When I lived in the Bahamas, I went to give blood with a couple of friends. At the time in the Bahamas, if someone knew they'd need blood (a friend's wife was due for a Caesarian), they had to solicit donations from acquaintances (the acquaintances' blood was added to the bank to make up for the blood used). Unfortunately (?) I was not allowed to donate, but when my friends were all done, they got a pint of Guinness - and I got one too, for my "troubles"! That's the kind of health treatment I like!

I once heard Bono from U2 claim that the best pint of the black stuff he ever had, was from Nigeria.
