Green Card dependent question
 

Hi,
my Wife has recently been approved for her Green card (it took just over 2 months, she applied as a distinguished professor) - I also applied as a dependent on her application (I am a student and IT professional but am here on a F1 student visa) but have not heard anything.

Is it normal for primary applicants and dependents to be treated wholly separately and would this mean that I might have a long wait to find out whether I am approved ?
