Yes you can disconnect and connect as you wish. When you're feeling particularly homesick you can leave it connect then when you do a google search google uk comes as does amazon.co.uk etc. etc. Small pleasures, just little small pleasures lol. 
I had trouble connecting the first time I downloaded it but I deleted it and tried again. Don't have many issues with it now.

I am fine thanks! It's been 8 or 9 years I think, but seems like just yesterday! You'll be pleased to know I've got over my worry about driving as far as where you live! I now realize it's not that far at all! Really nice to talk again. Maggie.

We pay for overplay only about $10 a month, but so worth it as I can watch all the uk sites, and yes it works on the mac! We also have a cable we can connect the pc up to the tv, so we can watch it on there too

I use astrill.com to watch all the UK TV channels, also let you watch many more channels in loads of other countries too. Love being able to watch Sue Barker hosting Wimbledon. Can't wait for this year's Strictly!

I apologise because it's probably been asked a thousand times before, but how can I watch Grand Designs here in the colonies? I've just come back from the UK and watched an episode on the BA entertainment system, and I want more. Obviously Channel 4 on-demand won't let me watch it because my IP address is outside the UK and UK Nova doesn't have it.
