Default Grand Designs - how can I watch it here?

I apologise because it's probably been asked a thousand times before, but how can I watch Grand Designs here in the colonies? I've just come back from the UK and watched an episode on the BA entertainment system, and I want more. Obviously Channel 4 on-demand won't let me watch it because my IP address is outside the UK and UK Nova doesn't have it.

Suggestions?

Use the search function on the site for stuff like "Expat Shield" and you should find threads. I would be more specifically helpful, but I am incompetent with technology.

Brilliant series. There are seven or more of them now.

We brought over DVDs of the series as well as order them from here from amazon.co.uk. The shipping of DVDs to the USA isn't that prohibitive at all.

We have a DVD player from the UK (attached to a transformer that services other UK devices we wanted to keep, like our stereo system) as well as a multi-region player we bought here in the States.

Once a show is available for purchase, it can't be placed on UKNova. Grand Designs goes pretty quick to DVD so only a few times did we hit a few from UKNova last year.

We love that show!

I once had a theory that the presenter Kevin McCloud was having sex with the lady of the house because they always seemed to get pregnant half way through the project.

VPN, nzb or torrent.
Not sure why anyone bothers with UKNova, The Box and TorrentDay (seasons 1-8 all freeleech) have it.
As does alt.binaries.multimedia

Expat Shield wouldn't connect for me yesterday, but anyway, there's tunnel bear, liberty hero and others for free as well as all the other paid VPN options.

piratebay or whatever flavour of torrent site you fancy to get it if it isn't on demand.

Thanks, I'll search the torrent sites or get the DVD's if everything else fails.

I forgot how good Grand Designs actually is. There's nothing even half-way comparable on the US TV

Building, buying, or doing up a house seems to make women super-fertile. Must be the nesting thing. My sister was having trouble conceiving so i told her to buy a house. Less than a year after moving in, she had her first.

I can't get it to let me watch Ch4 when I use Expat Shield. Can only watch BBC and ITV.

Hmm odd, I have no problem. Every now and again I get an error playing type message, but I persist and usually after two or three clicks away it goes.

Can you switch it on and off? I watch a lot of US shows via the interwebs too and wouldn't want to give that up.

Expat Shield isn't compatible with a Mac. Is there anything else that is? I watched Grand Design last time I was over in UK and it was great as well as a few other TV programs.

LIW, hello from way, way back when!

So I downloaded Expat Shield last night and it worked fine, today it says 'unable to connect', is this common?
